I often eat here with a large group of my family and the service is pretty good. We're usually a group of ten plus, four generations and one fur baby! The staff are polite and respectful from the Great-grandparents down to the littlest little one. Honestly, the food is only ok, but the menu is varied and caters to all of our various dietary requirements, the portion sizes are very... interesting. The other day, one of us had the tiniest portion of seabass but the fish for the fish and chips was enormous! I know different fish cost different prices at wholesale but still. Despite this "discrepancy", the rest of the plate was full and typically no-one is left hungry. We will be back many times because they accommodate our group comfortably and we can all eat together. Prices are very reasonable. (but I'm used to eating out in big, stupid, over-priced cities);🤣

Had delightful afternoon tea here for our anniversary. Plenty of sandwiches, cakes, scones & most importantly bottomless tea. The staff were very accommodating, & popped in every so often to check we didn't need anything. I loved the room, ambience & crockery. My only slight criticism is that the menu isn't online, so we didn't know what sandwiches were on offer. I don't like fish, curry or eggs, so I had limited choice, but I should have asked about alternatives, as I'm sure they could have rustled something up. A great experience, and we'll definitely return.

So I dined here for a Birthday lunch with my father - as a main course he had a venison casserole with fresh vegetables and potato purée £19.95 and I had battered cod and chips with mushy peas and I opted for a large fish £24.95 the regular version cost £19.95. Service was prompt and attentive. The food came up relatively quickly considering it was quite busy. Venison was good but had some grisley parts which is unusual for a venison the vegetables all got eaten. The cod was excellent. The batter was very crispy and the fish was a good decent large piece and tasted very . Chips seemed like a frozen variety but a good quality nonetheless, but they served far too many with the dish in my opinion. Mushy peas, you can’t really get wrong because they’re all out of a tin. Well dessert, we had one Affogato (espresso and ice cream) £6.95 and one carrot cake with a hot drink (espresso) £6.95. The building is set opposite rolling fields in what it feels like a village surroundings. It is well maintained and the interior is cleverly designed and very clean and well maintained. We sat directly next to a large crackling fire and as it was freezing outside this was very nice. I definitely recommend you try them. We went for afternoon tea today at The Chaser Inn to celebrate their launch week of this great idea, and we were thoroughly impressed! 😊 The afternoon tea was absolutely fantastic, with a lovely selection of cakes, sandwiches, and scones that just melted in your mouth. The scones & Carrot cake, in particular, were spot on, served with what was clearly homemade jam and clotted cream to go with it of course. 😋 We opted for the sparkling afternoon tea, which came with a glass of Prosecco and a jug of tea that got refilled twice with no extra charge. The service from all the staff was great, making our afternoon tea experience truly special. Decent-quality roast in a gorgeous setting 🍖 gorgeous, old pub with friendly staff. The roast was a generous portion and tasty! This, paired with a good, long walk in the area is a wonderful day out.
