“So I dined here for a Birthday lunch with my father - as a main course he had a venison casserole with fresh vegetables and potato purée £19.95 and I had battered cod and chips with mushy peas and I opted for a large fish £24.95 the regular version cost £19.95. Service was prompt and attentive. The food came up relatively quickly considering it was quite busy. Venison was good but had some grisley parts which is unusual for a venison the vegetables all got eaten. The cod was excellent. The batter was very crispy and the fish was a good decent large piece and tasted very . Chips seemed like a frozen variety but a good quality nonetheless, but they served far too many with the dish in my opinion. Mushy peas, you can’t really get wrong because they’re all out of a tin. Well dessert, we had one Affogato (espresso and ice cream) £6.95 and one carrot cake with a hot drink (espresso) £6.95. The building is set opposite rolling fields in what it feels like a village surroundings. It is well maintained and the interior is cleverly designed and very clean and well maintained. We sat directly next to a large crackling fire and as it was freezing outside this was very nice. I definitely recommend you try them.
